Meridian Raw CIC is a social enterprise that helps to bring about social change and advocacy through creative participatory photography projects and horticultural therapy sessions.
Since our inception in 2013 we have worked with over 300 participants and facilitated over 2000 photography workshops through our participatory photography programmes. More recently we have used horticulture and gardening as an empowerment tool for marginalised communities and socially excluded individuals.

We're working towards a world where people are better connected to each other and to their place. We believe that promoting our twin values of connectedness and equity of opportunity lies at the heart of helping our communities find their own, local solutions to loneliness and social isolation, environmental regeneration, reducing crime and anti-social behaviour and building community cohesion.
WHAT IS A SQUILOMETRE?
First off - we made the word up! Please don't be alarmed if you haven't come across it before!
It just means that it operates within (roughly) one square kilometre. It's our way of committing to a particular community, in a particular place. It's a technique, developed by Interwoven, to help CONNECT PEOPLE TO PEOPLE - AND PEOPLE TO PLACE. We've been refining this technique since 2014 and it is under continual reflective review.

Green Drinks is a relaxed and fun social for anyone that loves the environment, nature, or wildlife. We're a friendly, varied, bunch of folk from all walks of life and all are welcome.
The main event is an evening social, every third Friday, and a venue will be announced very soon. You can pop in anytime after 19:00 (officially we will end at 22:00 but you can of course keep chatting!) & meet kindred spirits to chat, network, and share ideas over a drink (hot, soft, or alcoholic) & food (optional).
To make this group as vibrant, inclusive, and interesting as possible:
- Do your best to bring a friend, colleague, or family member along to each event.
- As sun-events, we'll organize a regular walk and also a gentle cycle ride.
- We will, introduce very short (snappy) talks of no more than 15 mins to get evenings going on a positive, topical, interesting subject. Then, after a brief Q&A we'll relax into the informal socialising.

Established over fifty years ago by a small group of volunteers, Devon Wildlife Trust is the only charity that exists to protect all wildlife in Devon and to safeguard Devon’s unique natural environment.
Living landscapes
This is based on the Wildlife Trusts’ pioneering work into conserving wildlife at a landscape scale in the terrestrial environment, responding to the challenges of fragmentation and climate change. At its heart is a conviction that wildlife rich areas need to be bigger, better, more numerous and better connected. It encapsulates our aspirations for high quality habitats and the recovery of the species they support.
Living seas
Approximately half of our biodiversity resides in our surrounding seas. Yet action to protect marine wildlife is decades behind conservation on land. With ocean environments in alarming decline worldwide and pressure on fisheries growing, it is imperative that we act now if we are to stop this trend before it is too late. Our mission includes designating areas for marine wildlife, managing the activities the take place within them and changing fishing practices so that marine wildlife can thrive in UK seas once again.
Living with nature
This embraces our work with people and wildlife. Our aim is to change hearts, minds and behaviour so that people take decisions in the best interests of wildlife and engage with nature to enrich their lives. This might relate to the way people garden, the food they buy, the water they use or the way they spend their leisure time. We are not just looking for passive support; we want many more people to become actively involved with wildlife conservation.

We work to create better places for people and wildlife, and support sustainable development.
We were established in 1996 to protect and improve the environment. We have around 10,600 employees. Our head office is in Bristol and we have another office in London. We have offices across England, divided into 14 areas.
Within England we’re responsible for: regulating major industry and waste; treatment of contaminated land; water quality and resources; fisheries; inland river, estuary and harbour navigations; conservation and ecology.
We are also responsible for managing the risk of flooding from main rivers, reservoirs, estuaries and the sea.
Lead local flood authorities (LLFAs) are responsible for managing the risk of flooding from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses and lead on community recovery.
