Friends of Shillingford Wood

This is a community project to purchase Shillingford woods for the enjoyment and benefit of the local community.
The woods cover an area of nearly 12 acres, covering a hill side in Shillingford St George.
The wood is an ancient woodland and in the springtime is full of blue bells. It is also a haven for many animals and insects.
There is a "permissive" path through the woods, which twists and turns.
Any money raised will go towards buying this wood and associated costs.

Woodland Trust Shillingford Wood is a quiet, tranquil place only a short distance from Exeter. It's very welcoming, with small information maps at both entrances to the wood, and 'Woodland Walk' signs posted along the the track route that runs the length of the wood. There are views through the trees across the valley to the small village of Shillingford St George with its parish church just visible on the opposite slope. There's no parking at the wood but there are a number of possible places nearby.
