We are a group of people who try as best we can to make God’s love real in all we do together. Through our worship and our work we try to reach out to our community and make the Good News of Jesus known in practical, caring ways.
We welcome everyone to join us for our Sunday morning services, which are warm and relaxed. We sing traditional and contemporary hymns projected onto a screen. Our hymn books are Rejoice and Sing (the URC’s own hymn book), New Hymns and Worship Songs and Church Hymnary 4. We hope and pray that each person will experience something of the love of God here.
If you are seeking a church family to call home, we would love to have you join our membership – all are welcome – there are no hoops to jump through!
The motto coined by our founder is ‘Within these walls let no one be a stranger’ and we do our best to make that true for everyone.

You are... welcome here! Whether you have faith or not, whatever your background, ethnicity, ability, status or gender, you will find a place of welcome among us, wether online or in person.
We are... a church of about 80 members, with a congregation of around 150 people, from toddlers to over 90s.
Our Senior Pastor is Darrell Holmes, who moved here with his family in February 2008 to take up the role.
He works alongside Mike Hudson, our Associate Pastor who joined us in 2018.
Assisting them is our leadership team, made up of a secretary, a treasurer and two Elders. The Ministries of the church are co-ordinated by Ministry Team Leaders.
Whatever we call ourselves in the leadership team, we work together to provide direction and oversight to the church. We believe strongly that all members and friends have gifts, both spiritual and natural, to be used in the work of the church, outreach, and building each other up and encourage everyone to be a part of a Ministry Team. We are all committed to our Vision and Values, believing God has called us to serve Him wherever we are.

The Exmouth Food Bank was set up in 2012 by a group of churches in Exmouth, including the Brixington Community Church, Holy Trinity Church, the Salvation Army, Holy Ghost Church and Exmouth Chapel. It was created to help individuals and families in crisis by providing free emergency food help and our ethos remains the same today, more than eight years on.
Life doesn’t always go to plan and for whatever reason you may find yourself without the money to buy food. We are here to help and can provide food supplies if you live in Exmouth or the surrounding areas including Lympstone, Woodbury and Budleigh Salterton.
The majority of the food we distribute is donated; we then use cash donations to buy what else is needed to provide nutritionally balanced food parcels.
No food in the house, no money to buy food..... a food emergency for which we in the Exmouth Food Bank are here to help, including people self isolating or who were "shielding".
Requests may be accepted direct from an individual as well as from a referral agency - make sure to include the full address, number of people in the household and a contact phone number.

In August 2016, Sidmouth was awarded Fairtrade status for its commitment to Fairtrade principles, thanks to the efforts of local campaigners.
Earlier in the year, a resolution was passed by the Town Council to actively promote Fairtrade to consumers, businesses and community groups in the area.
As part of the campaign, retailers had to pledge to sell more than four Fairtrade products and eateries had to serve Fairtrade tea and coffee. The campaign also secured support from faith groups and voluntary organisations, as well as lobbying businesses to promote the Fairtrade message in their working practices.
Fairtrade helps small-scale farmers ensure they earn stable incomes and have long-term contracts with companies. In addition, they earn the Fairtrade Premium, which they invest as the farmer-owned co-operative democratically chooses, in projects that will benefit their business or community.
Over 4,500 products are now licensed to carry the FAIRTRADE Mark, from food and drink through clothing and homewares to flowers, sports balls and jewellery.
Wendy Spratling, Coordinator of Sidmouth Fair Trade Group, says: “We are delighted that more and more Sidmouth shops and catering outlets are coming on board, and hope that consumers will support them by buying Fairtrade wherever they see it, and asking for it where they don’t. It’s a small change – but it can make a big difference!"

Exmouth has been a Fairtrade Town for ten years!
To celebrate, we were hoping to hold an Anniversary Dinner in 2020 and we might try again next autumn (if/when the pandemic permits it).

The Blackdown Hills Rough Grazing Association is a landowner-led local group for owners and managers of rough, wildlife-rich grazing land.
Its aim is to encourage the active management of this characteristic type of land in the Blackdown Hills, to optimise its wildlife value and it economic relevance.
The Association pursues its aim by enabling owners and managers of rough, wildlife-rich land to communicate with each other, to share experience and to learn together.
The Association is independent of all agencies and external organisations and is run by local people, for local people. It is a constituted group with a small committee, with all members either owning rough land, being responsible for managing it, or having an interest in it.
The Blackdown Hills Rough Grazers Association was set up in early 2014 by a small group of landowners and managers, following the ‘Beef & Butterflies’ project.
We aim to give a voice to local people who own and manage the traditional pastures and meadows in the Blackdown Hills. The Hills contain generations of knowledge about these special places, and we want to help share that knowledge.
The rough, wet grazing land in the Blackdowns is hard to farm but rich in wildlife – we want it, and its owners, to thrive.
