Red Velvet Cinema is a small community cinema for older people particularly those who are lonely and socially isolated. After screening a classic film there is plenty of time for tea & cake and talking about people's memories of the film, the actors and the time in which it was set. Those that come believe they are coming to watch a film but really it's about conversation and companionship. And discussing the films enables people to avoid talking about 'sensitive' subjects which can trigger unwelcome feelings, such as, families, health and belonging.
