Wikipedia Torre railway station is a suburban station on the Riviera Line in Torquay, Devon, England. It is 219 miles 12 chains (352.69 km) measured from London Paddington. The station is managed by Great Western Railway but is not staffed; except for two trains in each direction per day, it is only served by local services, most notably as a commuter station for students for Torquay Girls' Grammar School and Torquay Boys' Grammar School, as many students commute from surrounding areas.

Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership The Riviera Line is one of the country’s best-loved railways, but hit the headlines in 2014 when it sustained devastating storm damage. Thanks to an EU-funded project led by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership, we helped the line to bounce back even stronger than before.

Our EU Citizens’ Rail project (2012-2015) enabled the Partnership to work in depth on the Exeter-Paignton line for the first time. Funding from the Interreg IVB NWE programme, Devon County Council, Torbay Council and Great Western Railway (GWR) helped deliver additional services, station improvements, community engagement and a sustained marketing campaign for the line. This helped the line to rapidly recover from its eight-week closure in early 2014. In the year from October 2014 to October 2015, 3 million journeys were made on the Riviera Line.

Network Rail Our Western route stretches from London Paddington to Penzance, through Bristol and up to the boundaries with Wales, the Cotswolds and Hampshire
We operate, maintain and are renewing more than 2,000 miles of railway, including the historic Great Western Main Line, conceived by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. There are 198 stations on the route, and we manage London Paddington, Reading and Bristol Temple Meads stations.

Following a 10 year, multi-billion-pound upgrade programme, we now operate electric services between the west of England and London for the first time. Working with partners, we have exciting plans to continue modernising the railway for the benefit of passengers and freight in every area we represent.
