On June 8th 2018, Riverford moved into employee ownership. Founder-owner Guy Singh-Watson has long seen Riverford’s purpose as more than just growing and delivering the best organic veg; since converting his first field to organic in 1987, he has challenged business norms and pushed to use Riverford as a force for good. Employee ownership is the next chapter.

Keith Hiscock has had a career in marine ecology and conservation since the early 1970s. Much of that career has been in consultancies and, as Head of the Marine Nature Conservation Review of Great Britain, in the statutory nature conservation bodies in the UK. In 1998, he started a collaboration with the MBA to develop a programme that would make more effective use of marine biodiversity information especially by adding knowledge that would identify the sensitivity of species and habitats. That collaboration led to the development of the MarLIN programme (www.marlin.ac.uk) and its successors at the MBA whilst on secondment from Natural England and then employed by the MBA. Keith 'retired' in 2007 but continues to contribute to relevant MBA contract work and is a MBA Associate Fellow. Retirement provided the time to write a definitive guide to the science that underpins marine conservation: 'Marine Biodiversity Conservation - a Practical Approach' published by Routledge in August 2014. He continues to improve his knowledge of benthic marine ecosystems by taking part in surveys and just 'doing' natural history. His photographs are extensively used to support MBA projects. He has authored or co-authored over 60 papers or chapters in books and journals and over 80 limited circulation reports.

Hampshire based natural historian
A lifelong passion for wildlife has given me a sound grounding in the natural world. I have been fortunate enough to be able to put my experience and knowledge to good use over the last few decades. My work has taken me all over the globe and provided me with a deep understanding and knowledge of the natural world - a passion that has shaped my entire life.
I have written more than 20 books on natural history, co-authored and contributed to many more, and written numerous articles for magazines.
I am a keen wildlife photographer and have illustrated many of my books using my own images. These are managed with renowned photolibrary Nature Photographers Ltd.
I am on the lecture circuit for the RSPB, National Trust and many other organisations and regularly give talks to local members, groups and natural history societies. I currently have over 15 lectures ranging from the wildlife found in your garden to the story of the survival of the Bermuda Petrel. Please take a look at my lectures page for more information.
In addition to my writing and photographic work, I regularly lead wildlife tours abroad for companies including Naturetrek, from the flowers of the Italian Gargano Peninsula to the wildlife of Bulgaria.
As founding director, I helped establish the Bird Photographer of the Year competition. This has become a major international photographic competition, helping to promote bird photography and supporting conservation through its association with the British Trust for Ornithology.
