We are an agroecological farm in the depths of South Devon, raising goats and chickens for meat. We make BBQ charcoal from our woods and the farm is home to our working horses aka Dartmoor Horse Loggers. Our overriding aim is to farm regeneratively, to regenerate the soil and grassland, to regenerate the woodland and support the wildlife that lives here while providing ourselves and others with nutritious food and produce that is grown or made in a sustainable manner, the management benefits the livestock and the land, as well as us. We are non-certified organic. Our livestock are fed organic feed and we don't use any chemicals or unnatural fertilisers on the land and our livestock and wildlife are both thriving!

Here at the Fresh Flour company, we partner with organic farmers and pay them a decent amount for their grain – four to five times the market rate – so they can tend the soil and environment, without fear of survival. We mill this grain using one of our stone mills. We then take this product, within a short amount of time, and make it into Pasta, Noodles, Crackers, Digestives and Bran Flakes, capturing a greater amount of nutritional value. We use Ancient and heritage and interesting wheats, as they are better for us and for the biodiversity.
We make “Everyday products, brilliantly” to make the grain system work – for agricultural people.
We also work in a socially conscious manner, by offering all our products loose - saving on packaging, environmentally and economically - direct from the mill and through 'to good to go’, 'the Mazi project’ and 'food in community’. That way we can offer high quality products to a wide range of socioeconomic groups.
What are we trying to achieve?
1. Grow interesting, (heritage, or population) grain, at an appropriate scale, that isn't overbreed.
2. Grow grain in the presence of sunshine NOT, as is the norm, in the presence of oil. (Natural not synthetic. There is NO second way)
3. Pay farmers a sustainable wage to do the job they love.
4. Pass on to the consumer the whole goodness that the grain holds. (Fresh Flour).

Small batch craft kombucha, brewed in Totnes.
We are a 2 (and a ½) person family enterprise making kombucha (a fermented tea drink) along similar lines to a craft or micro brewery. We have developed our business after being unsatisfied with the alternatives to beer and wine when out socialising and have developed the tag line ‘a new kind of drinking culture’ to convey this, and its probiotic qualities. We are now on taps at the New Lion Brewery on a regular basis. Who’d have thought it – a healthy drink in the pub?! Andy and Rose

As Montrealers, we are raised eating bagels. We're raised on buying bagels. Whether eaten in or out, they are part of our breakfast and brunches. They form an enduring part of our social culture.
Being a native born Montrealer, I will tell you that the 'Montreal Bagel' is the best bagel in the world. And I make that claim not just because I am a native born Montrealer, but because it absolutely, definitively, categorically and unequivocally beyond dispute IS the best bagel in world. It just quite simply is.
A while back I started working on perfecting the Montreal Style Bagel - watering my roots as some might say. What followed was years of bagel brunches where I trialled them on many willing guests. Even those who thought they didn't like bagels were instantly converted. Suffice to say, if you thought a bagel was a piece of bread with a hole in the middle, you haven't tried these. They will change your perception of bagels. Forever. But don't take my word for it. Try one!
