Set in the most beautiful countryside deep in mid-Devon we have plenty of space outside for people to enjoy, outdoor seating, a large car park and a sunny bar/dining area. Our characterful country pub can seat up to 50 guests for special events and can also be hired exclusively. We welcome children with well-behaved parents, dogs – as long as their owners are on leads and horses (but unfortunately, they will have to stay outside!). We have a comprehensive menu and a constantly changing specials board, also snacks, sandwiches and summertime salads. We use locally sourced ingredients in our homecooked dishes. In addition to this, we are also a Brit Stop Host so we look forward to welcoming you as a guest at our site sometime soon.

The store has free on-site parking and space for you to test ride your new bicycle. The canal provides 11 miles of safe cycling for all the family with a number of 'eating opportunities' along the way. For the nature lover there is lots to see - all the usual ducks, swans and coots and if you are very lucky you may catch a glimpse of a kingfisher. There is a great Information Centre showing the history of the canal at the Canal Basin in Tiverton. We will be able to give you a booklet giving lots of interesting information on what to look for.

We do ask all cyclists to follow the Canal Code for Cyclists. Be aware of other users of the canal, use your bell to let anyone know that you are coming up behind and please remember to always dismount when going under bridges.

My passion for chocolate was born of a love of adventure. That spirit took me to Venezuela, led me to buy Hacienda El Tesoro high in the cloud forest, and remains with me as my quest to make great chocolate takes me on the cacao trail around the Equator into the forests of the world, in search of the finest beans.

My chocolate is all about flavour. Great cacaos are like fine wines, each one with its own stunningly individual flavour born of its specific genetics, soil and climate. One might taste naturally of nuts, another of summer fruits. It is to capture these subtle notes and unique flavours that I make all my chocolate from the bean- which is called bean to bar chocolate! I buy single estate cacaos direct from the farmers, roast them in antique ball roasters and make them into chocolate using just raw cane sugar and natural cocoa butter – no soya lecithin, no vanilla, nothing that gets in the way of the flavour of the bean.
